From New Orleans comes artist Cut; as a youngster, he grew up in the St. Bernard Housing Project, a community suffering from poverty, drugs and violence. Through his music, he’s garnered the attention of many taste-makers, such as New Orlean’s own Q93.3 DJ Ro, 97.9 The Beat’s DJ Big Bink (Dallas, Tx.), and K104.5’s Bay Bay. Cut released Mother Nature, his debut album, in 2007 with [one-time] fellow label-mate, OneThang. It sold an impressive 60,000 copies on the black market. Cut has released four mixtapes since then, and many artists have used Cut lines in their work: from Lil Wayne to Gorilla Zoe.
