Another Wednesday, another Vibes In the City Roundup! There was some real talent that came through last night at LaRouge Lounge. I got the chance to sit and chat with a couple of interesting people like Fah Famyliar, an artist who was at Vibes In the City to just strictly show love and support other artists. The Ghost was an open mic performer while Mo’ is the Musical Director and a member of the live band that performs at Vibes in the City weekly. AAHH: What’s your favorite part about Vibes in The City?
The fact that so many artists that come through and perform. And that they basically are all from one city.
AAHH: If you got the chance to perform with anyone, who would it be and why?
Logic, because I get to see him perform and I realized he is such a good performer and takes his craft very seriously.

AAHH: So I’ve heard that you guys perform unrehearsed, is that true and how are you all able to do that so well?
For the most part, it is true. We hear a song about two times and after that, we can just pick it up and start to play it and make it our own.
AAHH: How long have you guys been playing together?
It’s been about two or three years now.
AAHH: How did the band end up playing at Vibes in the City weekly? And what do you think about the talent that comes through every night?
Word of mouth. Someone called me to fill in, and the people that brought me in initially are no long here, and I just filled in. So basically the band is one that I created. We have played for Joe Thomas, Ryan Leslie, Flo Rida and Patty LaBelle just to name a few. New Jersey, in general, has a lot of potential. We have to work together and realize that we can’t do it individually. We have to work together. We need more unity, more teamwork.
AAHH: If that band got the chance to perform with anyone, who would it be and why?
Prince is my father musically, so off the top of my head, it would have to be him. I’m a huge rock fan, and I love how his music just captivates a room.
