Tray Chaney: Bringing Back Substance

Most people remember this young genius from his role in the HBO hit Drama series “The Wire.” Now, he’s making a huge boot print on hip-hop, delivering something that seems to be missing from a lot of new artists — SUBSTANCE! From the big screen to the bright stage, this multitalented philanthropist is more than just a name; he’s an experience to be seen on stage, behind the mic, and teaching young actors. As he expands is music career he continues to be called upon to open for various artist such as Naughty by Nature, Arrested Development, Rakim, Floetry, Big Daddy Kane, Bobby Brown, Bel Biv Devoe, etc. With a growing number of fans [in the thousands], he’s bringing content back [to hip-hop] paying homage to women with “Love for you” and dropping “Dedicated Fathers” for the men who understand what needs to be done in our homes and communities.

While continuing his acting career on the screen, building his music empire has been at the forefront. It’s clear that with this type of drive and ambition, there’s only one direction for this artist to go. Check out the gallery below of his recent stop in DC.
