Another Friday. Another Playlist. This week we have a couple of remakes of smash hits, a little alternative R&B and AboveAverageHipHop favorite Bizzy Crook making an appearance on this week’s playlist. We’re always on the hunt for new music, so if you want to be featured on next week’s playlist, just mention us on Twitter (@AboveAverageHH) with the hashtag #FireFridayPlaylist.
Bizzy Crook – The Come Back
3 minutes and 13 seconds of straight heat is what Bizzy Crook is giving us on the “The Come Back”. Bizzy is confident, cool, and just an overall force to reckoned with on this record. Not to mention his wordplay…insane.
Kenyon Dixon – No Limit (Usher Raymond Cover)
Artist and songwriter Kenyon Dixon cover’s Usher’s latest single “No Limit” and we must say it gives the original a run for its money. Dixon manages to put his touches, making it completely his own.
AprilFoolChild – Mangos
“No it’s not 1492, you can discover my ocean blue” and boy are we sure glad we found AprilFoolChild’s single “Mangos.” While the production on Mango’s remains light, airy, almost whimsical…AprilFoolChild’s voice is soft, delicate with a hint of soul.
The Game ft Jeremih – Let Me Know
The Game gets political on his “Let Me Know”. With the help of Jeremih and a sample from “We Need A Resolution” by Aaliyah, The Game comments about the recent social issues occurring in the United States. It’s a bit different from what we are used to hearing from the Cali rapper. Right ow, there are a lot of rappers who refuse to acknowledge what is going on, The Game continues to get involved and not remain silent.
Sidney Renae – How You Gonna (Tyrese Remix)
Sidney Renae remakes Tyrese’s super smash hit “How You Gonna Act Like That” and kills it. Sidney sings about the regret of meeting and falling in love with a guy who did her wrong. Girl or guy, I promise you’ll be singing your little heart out to Renae’s remake.
