Vibes In the City: Cashrac

Cashrac is one of the featured artists for Vibes In The City. With a sound inspired by both the East and West Coast, he credits Busta Rhymes and Redman for sparking his initial interest in rapping. Catch him this Wednesday at LaRouge Lounge!

AAHH : At what age did you start to rap and when did you notice that it was something that you wanted to pursue?

Cashrac: I started rapping in the sixth grade while attending Lincoln Elementary. I knew it was something that I wanted to do when I heard and saw Redman and Busta Rhymes on television. I remember thinking “whoa these dudes are out of this world!”

AAHH: If you had to, how would you describe your sound?

CR: I would describe my sound as a broad range of sounds. But with an East Coast hard/ West Coast bounce type music with a lot of golden era reminiscent sounds with an update flow.

AAHH: What kind of reacting are you hoping to receive from the crowd when you take the stage?

CR: The kind of reaction I’m hoping to receive tonight from the crowd is pure pandemonium. I’m not a platinum selling artist yet, but I do expect my music to be well received.

AAHH: If you had the chance to collaborate with any artist, who would it be, and why?

CR: I hate to sound cliché but I always wanted to work with Prince way before he passed because of his genius. Busta Rhymes and Red Man because of their animation, they’re off the wall but still can be serious with their versatility. Which is why chose to model myself after MC’s like them.

AAHH: Where can our readers follow you to keep updated on your music?
