The old saying goes, “if you don’t have loyalty, you don’t have anything.” This rings true when checking out the latest by Fresno, California, native ThatNiggaSaint’s newest record, “Kinfolks.” Amidst a laid back, breezy, Cali vibe, Saint drops smooth bars that stress the value of true ride-or-die comrades over fakes snakes — the sentiment is wrapped up cleanly in the hook where he asks, “If you ain’t down for the cause then what you here for?” The visual itself has a vintage feel to it; the songs message is brought to life using prison yard politics, interspersed amongst 70’s gangster movie-esque shots of him and his team playing cards.
