Montreal-based trio Planet Giza has announced the release of their sophomore album Ready When You Are, set to drop on April 7th, 2023 via AWAL. To coincide with the album announcement, the group has dropped the latest single from the upcoming project titled “Quiet On The Set,” complete with an accompanying music video co-directed by Will Abu and Dovi.
Produced by the group’s Rami B & DoomX, the song begins with a single shaker that transitions into a dark, chromatic piano line accentuated by jazzy synth stabs. Tony Stone’s distinctive voice enters the track, soothingly reassuring his love interest with the lyrics, “When the world don’t make you smile girl you can always cry on my shoulder.”
The upcoming album Ready When You Are, contains 12 tracks and features from hip-hop and R&B stars such as Kaytranada, Mick Jenkins, Kojey Radical, Saba, Venna & Topaz Jones. The album delves into various themes, including fame and relationships, while narrating Tony Stone’s experiences as he navigates his way through the hectic and hedonistic life of a rising artist.
