America’s favorite throwback brand Calvin Klein is slowly making its way back into the spotlight with its vintage apparel and sexy lingerie wear. After facing financial problems and disagreements with the licensing of the clothing line, Calvin Klein went bankrupt in the 1990s. In 2002, Calvin Klein announced that he would be selling his company to the biggest shirt making company in the U.S, Phillips-Van Heusen (PVH). Owning several other fashion companies, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, and Sean John, PVH swept C.K into business emerging it from bankruptcy in 2003.

Now, we see Calvin Klein as a top seller in many department stores such as Urban Outfitters, Macy’s, Nasty Gal, etc. Even celebrities joined the Spring 2016 Campaign to boost sales, flaunting the brand on billboards throughout the city (NYC) and featuring the attire in videos.

“I excel in #mycalvins” was quoted by FKA Twigs as she wore a nude skin tight two pieces. The hashtag suddenly became a trending tag and had viewers tagging away #mycalvins on social media.

A friend of mine, who happens to be in radio, invited me out to a private event held at the Marquee in NYC on Tuesday, July 18th. Little did I know that my evening would be spent amongst big names like Mr. Kevin Liles, Tee Grizzley, London on da Track, Busta Rhymes, Phresher, Grafh, LouGotCash, Smack White, and more– in celebration of the launch of the Freestyle 50 Challenge Part II.

Kevin Liles, whom is a media guru, co-founder of 300 Entertainment, and has served as head-honcho of various other entities, is back with part II of the #Freestyle50Challenge– looking for another star. Now let me remind you of who 300 Ent. houses–Fetty Wap, Young Thug, Migos, Eric Bellinger, Tee Grizzley, Frank Ocean, and Shy Glizzy to say the least; who would miss an opportunity like this? On Friday, G Herbo released a commemorative merchandise capsule in conjunction with the release of his Welcome To Fazoland 1.5 EP–celebrating the 3-year anniversary of Welcome To Fazoland. “Delivery 2: Welcome To Fazoland,” the second installation of G Herbo merch, features 10 premium pieces: two lighters, three t-shirts and five hoodies (four of which feature “150 DreamTeam” and “N.L.M.B.” chenille patches). The merch creative celebrates heartfelt lyrics heard on Welcome To Fazoland’s songs “Mamma I’m Sorry” and “Write Your Name”. All new merch is available via his website.

Pharrell, 42 (born Pharrell Lanscilo Williams) is an American singer, rapper, and record producer, creating countless hits for Hip-hop and R&B music globally. He will be celebrating his birthday on April 5th, but he has something more exciting in the works. Pharrell has a signature sneaker with Adidas, which will be available with Adidas PW ZX 333 (the top running shoe in the 80’s and 90’s).

On 27 March 2015, Pharrell launched his Superstar Adidas collection, which had an international impact. His 50 shades of colorful sneakers with a mixture of Adidas original and Pharrell’s flair for color, express diversity for everyone. Anyone can have a particular style. The price of Superstar sneakers is $90 (on the Adidas website).

Nothing has been confirmed for the new Adidas collection, but Pharrell posted a video on his Instagram of him dancing with a teal colored pair of sneakers. It appears he is keeping up with tradition, vibrant colors and a keen sense of craftsmanship.

The featured video shows reinforced neoprene at the base of the sneaker with breathable mesh on top (toecap). Other features of the sneaker are the traditional three-striped lace-up, which are stitched on the sides.

The West-Kardashian clan certainly knows how to command the internet’s attention. A few short days after Kim announced via Twitter that she had paid off Kanye’s massive $53 million debt – and broke the web with her NSFW Instagram post – Ye took to Twitter and announced that Adidas was set to produce one million pairs of Yeezy Boosts in 2016. This is welcomed news for those anxious to get their hands on the coveted sneakers. The move would make sense, considering that upon their initial release last year — and subsequent drops — the sneakers have sold out in mere minutes; however, the production run was dramatically lower than one million. In fact, the last Moonrock drop was around 80,000 units.

The lack of availability has had mixed responses from sneaker heads, and driven up prices online, which have surpassed $1200 dollars on many online marketplaces. This enormous ramp-up in production could help more fans get their feet into Boosts this year.

2016 has been fruitful thus far for Kanye, with TLOP enjoying a positive reception from fans, Season 3 selling out Madison Square Garden in ten minutes and streaming around the world, and the birth — and grand reveal — of his son, Saint. This announcement, which has yet to be confirmed by Adidas, comes fresh on the heels of the news that TLOP physical copies would be available within a few weeks.

We’ll have to wait for official confirmation, as Kanye’s Twitter has been known be a mix of both informative truths and ranty pie-in-the-sky rhetoric. Perhaps in 2016, though, Yeezy will definitively “jump over Jumpman.”
