The self-proclaimed king of controversy and entertainment, Brandon Dye is a Chicago-based online media personality; his brand includes not only music, but his website that is chock full of interviews, editorial, and more. His latest musical offering, “Dear Daddy,” is a deep record that describes not only Brandon’s relationship with his father but a prominent issue that exists within urban communities across the nation. The song is formatted as a letter, with Brandon asking his father why he committed acts of adultery — amongst other things. It’s an incredibly open and honest record, with Brandon going as far as sharing the fact that he was molested as a teen.
There are an alarming number of deadbeat fathers out there — and if nothing else — maybe more records like that this can help to shake a few of them up.
