A Legendary Night for Hip-Hop Heads

The Jersey Shore welcomed some of Hip Hop’s brightest trailblazers to the Boardwalk Hall stage on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Legends including “The Alumi”, comprised of Monie Love, Special Ed, Dana Dane, Kwame, and Chubb Rock, and The Treacherous Three, who included Kool Moe Dee, Special K, and LA Sunshine, did indeed shine with their pioneering fast rapping style of their “Feel the New Heartbeat”. Captivating the hyped crowd with their trademark style and familiar beats, these Legends performed some of their most prolific hits from the late 80’s/early 90’s.

Hip-Hop founders Big Daddy Kane and KRS – One brought out the best of the crowd with their hits “Ain’t No Half-Steppin” and “MCs Act Like They Don’t Know”. Other solo hit performances included Kwame’s “Ownlee Eue”, Chubb Rock’s “Treat Em Right”, Special Ed’s “I.ve Got it Made”, Monie Love’s “Monie in the Middle” and female anthem, “Ladies First”. Dana Dane gave the crowd his “Cinderfella” while Tracey Lee brought it with his hit, “The Theme (It’s Party Time)”.

And what a party it was. For Old Heads and new fans of the genre, The All-Star lineup gave a show that did not disappoint. This Annual Concert, which is in its fifth year, is sure to be the highlight of the Hip Hop world for years to come.
