On Wednesday night I got to experience my first Vibes in the City. Before the evening got started, I got the chance to sit down and interview three lovely ladies. Rapper/singer King Nilah, Janaya Robinson also known as Black Swan and co-host of 8Squad Rebel Radio as well Honey one half of The Confessional Radio show on Non-Fiction Radio.
King Nilah
AAHH: What will you be performing tonight?
KN: I will be performing the lead single off of Loved and Millions (now available on Soundcloud), it’s called “Getting Money”. I will also be playing another song off the EP called “Leave No More”. There’s a video for “Getting Money” on Youtube so be sure to check that out.
AAHH: How did you hear about Vibes In The City?
KN: I know Broadway Blake, I met him through doing music. So he reached out to me and told me about Vibes In the City, and I came through for him.
AAHH: What sets you apart from other artists?
KN: I think what sets me apart from other artists is my performance. I get deep into it. I study my competition, and I feel as if a lot of artists just jump around or don’t interact with the crowd. But when I perform, I make people remember me.
AAHH: Where can we follow you at on social media?
KN: Everything is King Nilah (IG, Twitter, YouTube, SoundCloud and Snapchat)
Janaya (Black Swan)
AAHH: What will you performing tonight?
Janaya: Well for part of the night I will actually be co-hosting the radio show (8Squad Rebel Radio) that’s live streaming Vibes In the City. But when I take the stage I will be performing my single “Picking Up the Pieces”. The song was inspired by a relationship that I was in and how I was just done picking up the pieces.
AAHH: How did you hear about Vibes and how do you feel about what Vibes In the City is doing?
J: Vibes In The City was being promoted everywhere. My team NuFam used to perform all the time as well. When I found out that there was a live band, I loved it. I think that Vibes In the City is doing an excellend job. The live band is the dopest part of the show.
AAHH: What sets you apart from other artists?
J: What sets me apart from other artists is that I have my own style, and nobody can sing like me. I have that Whitney Houston , Jennifer Hudson church voice.
