Indie El Paso, Texas, music label Sick.Life has carefully curated producers, rappers, and singers together from the city and surrounding areas for their debut album Contagion; it features Elia Esparza (The Voice) and Chi Bully (2015 TeamBackPack champion) among the other talented artists from El Paso. The first single, “Xtra,” has been played on KPOO Radio in San Francisco as well as Westword RADIO and KCAA RADIO in San Diego, California and Detroit Unplugged Radio in Detroit, Michigan.
The album was put together by Sick.Life CEO and Executive Producer of Contagion, Rob Bennett. He was inspired by the many talented regional artists and carefully selected a mix of rappers, producers, and singers with the hope of bringing the city together on their own.
The first single “Xtra” featuring E$ BFNE, Sonny Wesson, NZO and produced by Drezyah, has already received the attention of AllHipHop.com and Vintage Media Group with their exclusive online review of the music video. The album opens with a somewhat dark feeling but gives way to several tracks that can be played at a party or club making it versatile. This project is unique in its collaborative effort and is truly a celebration of the Sun City (El Paso) and its diverse talent in the hip hop scene.
