Waldorf, Maryland, native Shao is back with the follow-up to last year’s five-song EP, Dice Life, Vol 1. His latest project Duality — released January 11 — is an honest, extremely well-curated six-song body of work that represents the emotional rollercoaster that is the life a devoted creative.
The project is an actual artistic display of duality; While the low songs like the super laid back — but deceptively somber — “Balance,” the project opener “Streetwalking,” and “Up All Night” (with its flame emoji chorus) are more reflective and represent the stress and anxiety of his lifestyle, songs like “Off With Your Head Cypher” and “Dumb” represent the fun side of being an artist and have more collaborative elements.
