As we inch closer to December 9th, anticipation continues to build for Prhyme – the collaboration project between Royce the 5’9 and DJ Premier. The 9 song classic (we’re assuming) features ScHoolboy Q, Slaughterhouse, Mac Miller and Dwele, with Adrian Younge’s discography being the sole sample source for Primo’s beats.
In an attempt to tide fans over, the pair dropped the first part of their Raiders Of The Lost Art Documentary (in collaboration with Complex). This instalment, which takes behind the scenes, introduces Royce’s personal life as he discusses his addiction – and what prompted him to get his life together.
There’s no arguing that this is an important album for not just Royce and Primo, but also hip-hop in general. We’re excited to check for the rest of the documentary and the album itself!
