Portsmouth, VA, rapper Michael DeAngelo took an interest in music at a young age; however, his bond with the art form [of hip-hop] grew even stronger after he relocated to California. By senior year, he was holding his own in freestyle battles around school — winning all of them. His notoriety grew across the school and the city. Following his debut first mixtape, Kid With the Flow, he began making music with his little brother — and cousin — forming the artist collective known as Cold Gang. Michael DeAngelo has opened up for several [notable] Bay Area artists such as Erk Tha Jerk and D-Lo, just to name a few.
His latest record, “The Lick,” is a California fresh right down to the breezy, laid-back vibe. It has an incredibly chill – yet subtly aggressive – flow, which is an excellent introduction to Michael DeAngelo if you’re new to him as an artist.
