Dame Dash is embroiled in legal trouble once again. Filmmaker Josh Webber has filed a $4 million defamation lawsuit against Dash, claiming Dash’s statements on the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast led to the cancellation of a $4 million movie contract.

The lawsuit originates from Dash’s claims on the podcast that Webber “stole” from him by winning nearly $1 million in a 2022 lawsuit. Webber denies these allegations, stating that Dash misrepresented the situation. According to court documents obtained by HipHopDX, Dash accused Webber and his attorney, Christopher Brown, of “triggering” him and stealing his property, including a judgment he had won.

Webber is seeking compensation for the loss of the $4 million movie contract, which was set to feature Billy Bob Thornton and Scott Eastwood. Along with the defamation claim, Webber wants to be compensated for the financial losses he incurred due to Dash’s actions.

This lawsuit is just one of many legal issues plaguing Dash. In February, a judge ordered Dash to sell his shares of Roc-A-Fella Records to satisfy a judgment of over $800,000. Dash had allegedly refused to pay the judgment, which led the court to seize his one-third ownership of the company. The shares were subsequently put up for auction, over which Dash had no control.
