Cleveland’s Nija Gal Represents a Nation with Bars

They gone be looking for you one day they gone see 🙏🏾 drop 🔥🔥🔥 if you mess with the vibe…

With Hip-Hop at the height of its popularity internationally, the success opens the door for the future to be welcomed with open arms from all across the world like the new Nigerian-descent recording artist, Nija Gal. Born Nnena Aidgwe, thanks to her impactful and pride-centric content, the Cleveland, Ohio indie act has quickly become a new found sensation in music that the world is quickly paying close attention too.

A triple-threat at heart (actress/recording artist/writer), Nija Gal got into music through her inability to purchase song licensing for her filmmaking endeavors. Unable to get the perfect sound, Nija began recording her music to input her features. Realizing she had some slick wordplay, Nija took her act to social media and started recording and posting freestyles. Nija quickly accumulated thousands of views along with positive responses to her empowering rhymes over Instagram and began producing more clips showcasing her must-see potential.

Nija Gal’s style is blended with thought-provoking, brazen lyricism that allows her Nigerian roots to speak volumes. She gained the moniker of The Nigerian Nightmare from her impressive viral foundation. Music isn’t shy of Nigerian success; a previous artist of Nigerian-descent to shine bright is Warner Music signee Wale. Nija is quick to follow in the same successful steps with her unique presence.

As Nnena Adigwe (22) is a very proud Nigerian and a female of many avenues as she is a Comedian, Basketball player, and Director. Nnena is the screenwriter for her upcoming original series, titled, Damn Nnena: The Hurt Bitch Chronicles, the same project that kickstarted her musical career.

In 2018 thus far, Nija has released two buzzworthy songs “Me & You” and the new lover’s scorned anthem, “Not the Thumb.” On the track, Nija crafts an in your face tell-all official universal response for any woman who has endured an unappreciated relationship. The infectious track is raw and uncut, the perfect depiction of what goes through a woman’s head when dealing with a good for nothing man. Interesting enough, “Not the Thumb,” is a self-reflection and self-healing body of work that will quickly become a fan favorite from the up-and-coming artist’s catalog for years to come.

As the year continues, Nija Gal promises plenty more freestyles and release of original music for her consistently growing fanbase. With Cleveland a current music melting pot for hit new artists, it’s only a matter of time that Nija Gal will carry the indie label before being a top prospect for the majors.

East Coast representer P 80 returns with a new single dubbed, “Smooth Ish”.  Produced by Grammy Award winning and RIAA Platinum producer Omen, who produced Drake’s “Shut It Down” and Lil Wayne’s “I’m Single,” this sonically dark East Coast track carries a mellow vibe as P 80 effortlessly rhymes with a monotone flow on the track.

“Me and Omen made the beat together a few years ago. When I made the song I didn’t really like it but Omen did and he kinda pressed me to put it on tha EP,” P 80 explained. “After we put out the EP, I realized that a lot of people fu**ed with it so we shot the vid for it with Xash.”

The visual follows up P 80’s previous release “For You” ft. Selina Carrera, which earned P 80 critical acclaim from over 30 blog sites including Daily-HipHop, Siccness, HipHopEnquirer, Tent-TV and more.

With Summer around the corner P 80 is focused on the essentials in life right now; creating and chasing after the all-mighty dollar.

“My plans for the Summer is to keep creating and save my paper. Try to stay focused and inspired,” P 80 explained.

As Dante Swave prepares for the release of his upcoming EP, Take Your Soul, the introspective rapper delivers the lead single to the project dubbed, “Vibes” produced by Shhbang Records.

According to Dante the song is about energy, self love and the idea of being alive: “The way you can catch a vibe is through energy, any feeling that makes you feel good in any sort of way. Aesthetics within your visionary perception. Meeting people you connect with, having fun, and being comfortable with yourself is how you catch a vibe. It all starts with self-love and loving the idea of being alive,” Dante explained.

After taking his high school by storm rapping a diss record at the school talent show, Dante Swave became inspired to pursue rap seriously speaking on real life situations and violence that he witnessed in New York as a youth.

I started rapping when I was 13 years old because of life situations that made me put a pen to paper like violence in the streets of NYC and common teen depression,” Dante Swave explained. “I made a diss track towards someone at my old high school in retaliation for making a song about me. I  performed it at a school talent show which made my whole school go crazy, making me realize this is what I wanted to do”

Rolling into the Summer, Dante Swave is prepping for his Take Your Soul EP and encourages everyone to live their best life.”Be yourself and live your best life, this world is like an alternate reality just play it the best way you can and have fun.”

Jayzon – “Bestie”

Today West Coast rapper JAYZON returns with his new music video for the song, “Bestie.” In just a few short months the song has already earned over 180k plays on Spotify alone, solidifying the West Coast rapper’s spot on the LA scene. JAYZON penned track based on personal experiences, placing himself between two females in a drama filled love triangle.

“Bestie is my first real single and I’m putting a real push behind it. So far it’s been doing pretty good, and it’s about a guy that’s in love with his girl’s best friend. It’s the typical story that people go through everyday, but nobody wants to talk about it,” JAYZON said laughing. “I felt it would be a great record to push because people can relate to it and controversy sells.”

“Baby I’m in love with your bestie / Shouldn’t have never told her tried to test me
Even told how the good sex be / Now she on my back tryna stress me”

As a rapper JAYZON hasn’t had the most traditional path to becoming a success in the music industry. JAYZON got his break in music by focusing his efforts on producing, earning income with music licensing and working with a production team called The Neckbones. Working with the best of the best, producing on soundtracks and working primarily for television and movies, JAYZON was eventually encouraged by his business partner and management team to pursue his career as a rapper.

“I started off as a producer with The Neckbones production group. From there I produced music for Eve, WC, Beanie Sigel, Austin Powers Gold Member, the movie Biker Boys and that kind of just got me in the game,” JAYZON explained. “It’s an inside the box thing and it’s all about meeting the right people, once you’re in there it’s a wrap.”

Eventually JAYZON released two projects in 2017 titled, Tell the Truth and Love Songs which show fans the duality in JAYZON’s music, proving his ability to make songs for the streets and songs about love and relationships. When asked about what it was like to record with major artists like Eve and Young Jeezy who is featured on his Tell the Truth album, JAYZON explained he just wants to make good music.

“I still work with a lot of the artists from the past. It’s all about showing love, trying to unite and make some history. No matter who the music is with, as long as it’s dope and it’s good music, that’s all that matters to me,” JAYZON said.
