2Pac Producer Signs Licensing Deal With Candlewick Press

Harold Scrap Fretty, the multiplatinum music producer, best known for “Only God Can Judge Me” by 2Pac, recently signed a licensing deal with Candlewick Press — a division of Harper Books. The licensing deal is in conjunction with the book entitled When We Was Fierce by author e.E. Charlton-Trujillo. The book combines excerpts from the song “Only God Can Judge Me” with a journey through the lives of (innercity) teenagers coming of age while gang violence ravages their neighborhood.

Much of Scrap’s success as a producer has come from the team he has assembled. The manager and CEO of The Bullets Production team, William Junebug Lee, is thrilled: “It’s truly extraordinary; managing Scrap has been a fairytale of a success story. I’m continually impressed with how he constantly reinvents himself, all while sharing his once in a lifetime experiences that influenced the history of Music.”

Candlewick Press has the right platform to reach the demographic that yearns to hear the history of our subculture, which has transcended into pop-culture. Be sure to check for the book, it’s available now!
