Female Emcee Skoopgotfans has made Hip Hop an outlet since she was just a youth. “My music is a mixture of things I’ve experienced in the past, or — as my mother used to call them, growing pains,” she explains. “Although I go through my personal issues rap has always been my scapegoat.”
As Skoop tells AAHH, her parents were a huge influence. “My mom showed me how our actions could determine the individuals you become,” she says. “She always supports me whether it’s giving me ideas for songs, or critiquing me.”
Skoop’s father, who was also an artist used to write and recite lyrics in front of her growing up — which further birthed a love of the game.
“Music is my belief; I write from the heart no matter the circumstances,” she says. “I hope that people will listen to my mixtape and or album to understand the concepts and positive messages … Hip hop is my art and culture.”
