GRAMMY® Award-winning rapper and The Roots co-founder Black Thought has teamed up with acclaimed cinematic soul luminary El Michels Affair to release a new single entitled “I’m Still Somehow.” The track offers a glimpse into their upcoming 12-track album, Glorious Game, set to hit stores on April 14 via Big Crown Records.
The two first crossed paths in the early 2000s, exhibiting mutual admiration for each other’s craft. However, during the global pandemic, Black Thought reached out to Michels for material, building the foundation for Glorious Game.
To celebrate the album’s arrival, El Michels Affair and Black Thought will host an already sold out Glorious Game album release party on May 18 at Brooklyn Made in Brooklyn, NY.
In a press release, Black Thought expressed excitement about the new album and the best time for it to be released. He said, “Never has there been a better time for such honest, message-driven music that pays tribute to the sounds that came before us.”
The album’s tracklisting was also unveiled, revealing features by KIRBY, Son Little and Brainstory.
