HOODLUM is making sure to leave his mark with the upcoming release of his debut album, Southside Story. The album is set to drop on April 7th, and HOODLUM has given fans a sneak peek with the release of his new single, “PRESSURE.” The track showcases the rapper’s distinct style and signature croaky delivery over a mesmerizing piano loop and stuttering hi-hats.
The San-Antonio MC burst onto the national stage with his 2019 single “OJ,” which garnered over 3 million views and was subsequently featured in the horror film Random Acts of Violence. The rapper’s laidback flow, off-kilter cadence, and knack for deep and bass-heavy beats have earned him a reputation as a unique and exciting emerging artist.
Collaborative efforts with fellow Texas rapper Maxo Kream have garnered attention, most notably on the track “OUTSIDE,” which is finally available on streaming services (along with “PRESSURE”).
With Southside Story, HOODLUM shares his complete life story, impressively backed by a range of beats, including G-Funk, hard-hitting Southern Trap, and Boom-Bap. Paul Wall, Valee, and Doeman are set to feature on the album, which promises to showcase the versatility and expressive lyricism of this emerging talent.
