Drake Rules Billboard

Drake has officially done it again, clinching the number one spot on both of Billboard’s top 200 and 100 lists for his album VIEWS and song “One Dance.” It only took Drake one week to sell one million copies of his album VIEWS, and within six weeks he sold two million.

He happily pointed out his domination of Billboards on his Instagram. “One Dance” spent five consecutive weeks at number one on Billboards Hot 100 chart, and VIEWS spent six weeks appearing on Billboard’s 200 album chart, which saw 135,000 in sales and streams. He sold twice as many sales when being compared to Beyonce’s Lemonade, which earned the second spot.

VIEWS is #1 on the Billboard 200 for the 6th week in a row and “One Dance” is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 5th week in a row! The sun is shining so hard outside through my blinds, and the first thing I see on my phone is this. Blessings beyond comprehension. Thank you for all the love and the listens.

Drake’s infamous chart setting has solely been because of his popularity through streaming. His album recently passed the one billion streaming record. If Drake can hold his number one spot on next week’s chart, the YMCMB star just might become the first male artist to rule the charts for seven weeks straight. Eminem’s Recovery album held the spot for seven non-consecutive weeks back in 2010.
