20-year-old East Brunswick, New Jersey, rapper Doov is looking to take his team to the top — exemplified with his dope new record Target. “When you start to make it you turn into a target, aight bet, then I’m finna be a target,” he raps defiantly.

He started releasing music on Soundcloud five years ago; his first track, “Rough Drafts,” surpassed 30k plays, giving Doov all the affirmation he needed to keep it pushing. He describes his music as an exciting blend of influences, from jersey club and afrobeat to soul, that still manages to embody the deep classic hip-hop roots that the Garden State has running throughout.

“Target” is the first official single off of his upcoming debut album,
