Albany, New York, rapper D3V (DeV) picked up a pen [at 13 years-old]and tried his hand at writing; years later, he found himself at a crossroads–uninspired by sports and unsure of a future in music. Rolling the dice, D3V walked away from the field, made himself comfortable in a recording studio, and never looked back. The results have been–from our perspective–quite good. As part of the Lucid Dream Music Group, he’s built a strong collection of music and visuals, including two full-length projects, Labor and Labour II. He’s ready to kick things up a notch for 2017.
His latest record, “It’s On” featuring frequent collaborator D.O.C, has a slow and sexy ‘for the ladies’ vibe that is very much in the same vein as some of their past collabos, like “1 Night” and “Like Me.” The record has some definite potential–give it a spin.
