Benzino, father of rapper Coi Leray, has recently ignited controversy by referencing his daughter’s virginity at 14 while defending convicted sex offender R. Kelly. These remarks were made during an appearance on the Famous & Wealthy Podcast.

Benzino expressed frustration over Coi Leray’s decision to cut ties with him due to his support for R. Kelly. He mentioned that Coi Leray had previously shared her own experience of losing her virginity at 14 on the Math Hoffa Show. Benzino questioned how she could criticize him for discussing R. Kelly’s case when she had faced a similar situation at the same age.

Statutory rape is defined as sexual intercourse with anyone under the legal age of consent, which is 16 across all 50 states. Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder characterized by sexual attraction to children under the age of 18.

Last month, Coi Leray announced she was severing ties with her father due to his comments about R. Kelly’s conviction for sex trafficking. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), she emphasized her disconnection from her father and refused to condone or respect his actions. She highlighted that loyalty, boundaries, respect, and love are essential components of family, not just shared DNA.

Coi Leray concluded her statement by expressing her desire to have a child in the future and to be able to look them in the eye and tell them how much she loves them.
