Playboi Carti is accusing Kanye West of using one of his songs without permission in Ye’s latest single, “Alive,” featuring NBA YoungBoy.

Released on May 21, “Alive” quickly gained attention for sampling Carti’s track “CRANK” from his recent MUSIC album. Despite their history of collaboration, Carti made it clear that Ye did not have his blessing for the sample.

In a social media post, Carti tagged Ye in a clip of the “CRANK” music video with a caption that read, “DIS MY SONG LIL BRA @ye,” indicating his frustration at the unauthorized use of his work.

While fans debated the situation, live streamer Sneako defended West, claiming that Ye created the beat for “Alive” and suggesting that Carti’s version was inferior.

NBA YoungBoy added to the drama by releasing a solo track titled “Finest” shortly after the controversy surrounding “Alive.”

Despite their current disagreement, Kanye West and Playboi Carti have a history of collaboration, with Carti appearing on West’s Donda album on the track “Off the Grid.”

Carti’s MUSIC album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year, earning praise for its innovative sound and production. Ye has yet to publicly respond to Carti’s accusations.
