Snoop Dogg, a legendary figure in the hip-hop world, recently spoke about the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight while promoting his role in The Garfield Movie, Snoop praised both artists for reviving lyricism in their rap beef.

Snoop emphasized the positive impact of the beef on the rap game, stating, “I want to give both of them a shout-out for raising the bar when it comes to lyrics, song-making, and writing because the writing has significantly improved since the confrontation.” He also acknowledged his personal connections with both artists, adding, “Those are my nephews. I’m not in the middle of it. I support both of them, and that’s their personal business, not my business.”

Snoop further commented on the broader implications for the industry, saying, “As far as what they did for the industry and the rap game, they made you rap again. You can’t mumble your way and gimmick your way to a song anymore, buddy. So thank y’all.”

Interestingly, Snoop did become indirectly involved in the beef after Drake used AI to recreate Snoop’s voice for his diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Snoop initially reacted with a humorous Instagram clip, saying, “They did *what*? When? How? Are you sure? [ *Sigh*] Y’all have a good night. Why is everybody calling my phone, blowing me up? What the fuck—what happened? What’s going on? I’m going back to bed. Good night.”

Snoop does have a long history with Kendrick Lamar, which includes several collaborations and a joint performance at the Super Bowl.
