Busta Rhymes and the legendary J Dilla are teaming up once again for a new album titled Dillagence 2. On February 20, 2026, the Flipmode Squad leader hosted an exclusive listening session in New York City to debut the sequel to their 2007 mixtape. The event attracted a room full of excited fans and friends, who got the first listen of tracks from the project. Statik Selektah and DJ Tony Touch were also present, adding to the night’s energy.
During the listening session, there was a hint of a potential collaboration with Lil Wayne. Statik Selektah shared a snippet on his Instagram Stories that seemed to feature Weezy, tagging the Young Money icon in the post. If confirmed, this would mark Lil Wayne’s first time rapping over a J Dilla beat, bringing a fresh twist to the iconic producer’s sound.
Before the event, took to Instagram to hype up the project, exclaiming, “THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP SO WE DON’T STOP!!! NEVERRR!!! BREAKING NEWS!!!! BUSTA RHYMES x J DILLA NEW ALBUM!! POP UP LISTENING SESSION TONIGHT!!” However, while the anticipation builds, key details like the release date and tracklist are still under wraps.
The original Dillagence mixtape dropped in November 2007, more than a year after J Dilla’s passing. It served as a heartfelt tribute to Dilla’s genius, with Busta Rhymes paying homage by using some of his most notable beats alongside a few original productions.
Mick Boogie hosted the mixtape, which also featured contributions from other artists influenced by Dilla’s groundbreaking work.
