Ty Dolla $ign has verified the existence of Ice Spice’s rendition of Ye’s unreleased track “New Body,” but he cast doubt on whether the song will ever be released to the public.
Initially recorded during Ye’s Yandhi sessions, “New Body” was intended to feature Nicki Minaj alongside Ye and Ty Dolla $ign. Despite gaining popularity among fans due to leaked snippets, the song was abandoned when Minaj chose not to clear her verse.
In 2024, Ye revisited the track and considered reviving it. He approached Ice Spice and Doja Cat to reimagine the song, seeking input from collaborators and fans on the best fit for the new version. Media personality YesJulz revealed that Ice Spice recorded her own version, which Ye confirmed was completed and submitted before her team decided to hold off on its release.
Ty Dolla $ign expressed disappointment that “New Body” never made it to streaming platforms, suggesting it had the potential to be a significant hit. He hinted that Minaj’s initial refusal to clear her part played a role in the song’s fate.
