Rapper Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Carter, was arrested on October 2 for allegedly assaulting his limousine driver, Carl Reynolds, while on tour in Utah. The incident took place in Salt Lake City, where Reynolds was hired to drive Carti and his entourage.
According to Reynolds, an argument erupted between Carti and his girlfriend during the ride, prompting the driver to intervene. Carti then reportedly hit his girlfriend and later punched Reynolds in the face without warning, causing visible injuries.
While Carti’s girlfriend and security guard initially tried to take responsibility for the assault, the rapper admitted to police that he struck Reynolds because he was unhappy with the driver’s actions. Reynolds is now considering legal action against Carti to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
Despite the assault charges, Carti has continued his Antagonist 2.0 Tour, performing in various cities across the United States. This is not the first time the rapper has faced legal trouble for violence, as he was previously arrested in February 2023 for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend during an argument.
Carti’s attorney has denied the allegations, stating that the case will be resolved without prosecution. The Wasatch County police are currently investigating the recent assault incident involving Carti and Reynolds.
