Demonte Jackson, the man who attempted to rob rapper Bun B’s Houston home in April 2019, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. Jackson, who pleaded guilty to felony charges, will be eligible for parole in 20 years.

The incident took place when Jackson, armed and wearing a mask, tried to break into Bun B’s home. Bun B, who was upstairs at the time, grabbed his gun and chased after Jackson, who eventually managed to escape. Jackson later claimed to be suffering from mental health issues.

During the sentencing hearing, Bun B recounted the events of that night. He described how his wife, Angela “Queenie” Walls, was traumatized and has not been able to return to their home since. Bun B detailed how he heard the robbery from a different floor in the house and fired several shots at Jackson, hitting him in the shoulder.

Bun B expressed ongoing anger and frustration over the incident, stating that it continues to affect their lives. He emphasized the emotional toll on his wife, who has become withdrawn and unable to communicate effectively. Bun B mentioned that his wife has never stepped foot in their home again, citing her trauma.

Jackson’s attorney mentioned that he would receive mental health treatment while in prison. Jackson’s grandmother also testified, stating that he was suffering from mental health issues.
