In a recent episode of his podcast Joe and Jada, Fat Joe shared his belief that Kendrick Lamar and SZA are poised to become the greatest rapper/singer duo of all time. According to the “Make it Rain” rapper, the longtime collaborators are on track to dominate the Hip Hop scene.
Fat Joe stated, “What you don’t know is that they’re going to be best friends and all that forever. Right now, they got about six or seven songs. They are number one. They could take the spot, 100%. They are fire together. I’m just saying if it ever gets rocky… [If it doesn’t] then they’re going to take the slot.”
He also compared them to Ja Rule and Ashanti, calling the latter duo the greatest rapper/singer pair of all time. Fat Joe believes that Kendrick Lamar and SZA are working towards surpassing them by achieving more No. 1 hits on the charts.
Kendrick and SZA recently made history with their hit song “Luther”, which broke the record for the most weeks at number one for a song with co-billed solo men and women. The track surpassed Diddy and Faith Evans’ “I’ll Be Missing You” and has become the biggest Hip Hop single of the decade.
SZA also shared some advice she received from Kendrick Lamar, revealing that he suggested she imagine watching herself perform from above. This tip helped her change her energy and approach to her performances.
