Former Death Row Records singer Danny Boy is publicly criticizing Snoop Dogg, claiming the rapper-turned-executive has mishandled the label’s legacy artists and failed to follow through on financial promises.
In a recent interview, Danny Boy alleged that he has not received royalty statements or payments for his Death Row-era work since Snoop reacquired the label. He said no payments or statements have been issued despite earlier assurances.
He also claimed Snoop blocked him on Instagram following a heated exchange in direct messages.
Most notably, Danny Boy compared Snoop unfavorably to former Death Row CEO Suge Knight, stating that while Knight had a controversial reputation, he “took care of his people.”
“He’s worse than Suge,” Danny Boy said, arguing that Knight ensured artists were housed, fed, and financially supported during Death Row’s peak years.
Danny Boy further alleged that he attempted to help facilitate a multi-million-dollar international show offer for Snoop but was cut out of the deal before it materialized.
In addition to financial disputes, Danny Boy questioned Snoop’s loyalty during the label’s turbulent era surrounding Tupac Shakur, suggesting that Snoop distanced himself during key moments of tension.
Despite his criticism, Danny Boy emphasized that he is not financially desperate, noting that he currently works at a funeral home while continuing to pursue music. He framed his frustration as being about respect and unpaid royalties rather than personal hardship.
As of now, Snoop Dogg has not publicly responded to Danny Boy’s claims.
