In a recent newsletter, Mach‑Hommy said he has “a few projects in the chamber” and listed “Black‑Hommy” as a joint effort with Black Thought, though he did not provide a release date or further details.

The pairing has been teased before. The artists discussed a possible project during a 2024 interview with Pigeons & Planes, where Black Thought said he sometimes rejects verses that don’t meet his standards and added that when two people are “on that same type time, it’s going to best serve the culture for y’all to collab.” Mach replied, “Oh yeah, we’re building, I got a folder for you.”

Their collaboration is not new to listeners: the two appeared together on Mach‑Hommy’s 2024 track “Copy Cold,” from #RICHAXXHAITIAN, and previously on Your Old Droog’s 2020 song “Pravda,” which also featured El‑P and Tha God Fahim. Mach told Pigeons & Planes that “Copy Cold” began as a decade‑old idea that only came together after he reconnected with Black Thought.

Black Thought has publicly praised Mach‑Hommy’s work. On Questlove’s Questlove Supreme podcast in 2023, he named Mach as one of five rappers he believes deserves more recognition, calling him “my ace” and noting the way Mach’s sound sits alongside — yet remains distinct from — movements like Griselda.

If it moves forward, Black‑Hommy would be Mach‑Hommy’s first album since #RICHAXXHAITIAN and follow Black Thought’s most recent project, 2023’s Glorious Game with El Michels Affair. Black Thought has also been linked to a potential follow‑up with producer Danger Mouse, a sequel to their 2022 collaboration Cheat Codes. Neither the Black‑Hommy project nor any related releases currently have official dates.
