Rapper Westside Gunn announced a surprise new album titled *Still Praying*, building anticipation for his upcoming *Flygod Is An Awesome God 3*.
The Griselda Records Abbott said he got inspired spontaneously while waiting for the files to mix and master the album.
“I came here to mix and master my album FLYGOD IS AN AWESOME GOD 3 and was waiting for my files, so I had played some beats and caught a vibe,” Gunn wrote. “24 hours later i made a new project.”
The *Flygod Is An Awesome God* series has been pivotal in showcasing Gunn’s talent for curation. *Flygod Is An Awesome God II*, released in 2020, highlighted collaborators Conductor Williams and Stove God Cooks. Williams’ dissonant, loop-heavy production style complemented Gunn’s avant-garde aesthetic.
Stove God Cooks, who contributed to tracks like “Jose Canseco” and “Bubba Chuck,” has since become a prolific collaborator, appearing on all of Gunn’s subsequent studio albums. He’s emerged as one of the most anticipated artists from the Griselda camp, though label issues have reportedly held back a proper full-length, solo project helmed by Gunn.
Gunn’s approach of featuring guests on nearly every track except “Michael Irvin” allowed his collaborators to shine, enhancing the album’s gritty, underground feel.
While no official release date has been set for either *Still Praying* or *Flygod Is An Awesome God 3*, Gunn hinted at dropping the surprise project as early as next week, with *Flygod Is An Awesome God 3* potentially following in October.
“I told y’all I was thinking about dropping a project even before the album,” Gunn added. “I been doing so much wrestling and Fashion im ready to get back on my WSG SHIT!!!!!!”
