Legendary rapper Buckshot is recuperating following a violent Oct. 28 assault in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood. The Black Moon member recently reaching out to Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion show to share an update.

“He actually sent me a text message, and he wanted everyone to know that he’s fine. Don’t worry about him. He is going to be okay,” Hoffa shared during a recent episode.

“It’s a little bit of tension in the neighborhood between him and some people that’s from that area,” Hoffa explained.

He added that “for whatever reason, they felt like they had to call some people up to do something to him.” The podcast host also criticized those who made light of the situation on social media. “People that I seen, that I know, making blogs about it, making fun about it, that shit wasn’t funny,” he said.

The “Who Got Da Props” rapper initially issued an official statement to AllHipHop explaining the incident stemmed from property disputes. “Recently, I was the victim of a violent assault involving multiple individuals armed with weapons, including handguns. This attack stems from ongoing disputes over my property,” Buckshot stated.

The situation sparked controversy when fellow rapper Agallah the Don made claims about the incident’s cause on social media, suggesting Buckshot had initiated the confrontation. These allegations were quickly disputed, with Agallah later retracting his statements in a deleted Instagram post.

Rock, aka Rockness Monsta of Boot Camp Clik, strongly defended Buckshot while addressing the situation. “Buck don’t bother nobody… he’s past the age of bothering people, and when we were young, he wasn’t a bother people type of person,” Rock stated, dismissing claims that Buckshot provoked the attack.

The 49-year-old rapper is working with law enforcement to address the incident. “I am currently recovering from my injuries and am working closely with my legal team and law enforcement to ensure this matter is handled properly,” Buckshot said in his statement.

The Brooklyn native called for community action in response to the incident: “I’m calling on everyone to come together to make New York safer and better for all of us.”
