MF DOOM’s 2004 classic album MM..FOOD is marking its 20th anniversary with a fully repackaged edition featuring new artwork by Sam Rodriguez. The reissue, set for release on November 15 via Rhymesayers Entertainment, will be available in vinyl and digital deluxe formats.
The digital deluxe version includes the original tracklist plus rare remixes of “One Beer” and “Hoe Cakes” by Madlib, Jake One and Ant. It also features unreleased interview clips with the late rapper. Fans can now listen to the “One Beer” Madlib remix, which is available on streaming platforms.
A limited deluxe edition of the 20th anniversary vinyl will be sold exclusively on MF DOOM’s website, gasdrawls.com. This edition includes a 2xLP picture disc vinyl in a specially designed gatefold jacket and a bonus 7″ picture disc with rare versions of “Kookies.”
The reissue also brings back the out-of-print “Hoe Cakes” 12-inch vinyl, now pressed on “bug juice blend” colored vinyl. This single includes “Hoe Cakes,” “Potholderz” featuring Count Bass D, and a remix by Ant.
Accompanying the music releases, a new MF DOOM ReAction Figure & Cereal Bowl Set inspired by the album cover is available for pre-order. The DOOM estate is also releasing a limited apparel line to commemorate the anniversary.
MM..FOOD is celebrated for its unique concept, using food-related metaphors to explore themes of vice, sex, violence, and jealousy. The album showcases DOOM’s witty lyricism and innovative production style, blending humor with social commentary.
Standout tracks include the cautionary “Beef Rapp,” the breezy “Hoe Cakes,” and the introspective “Deep Fried Frenz.” The album’s influence extends beyond its initial release, impacting contemporary hip-hop production and lyricism.
MF DOOM, born Daniel Dumile, was known for his elaborate metal mask and multiple alter egos. His unconventional approach to hip-hop earned him widespread acclaim and a diverse fanbase. The MM..FOOD reissue serves as a celebration of DOOM’s enduring legacy in the genre.
