Rapper Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, is expected to testify this week in the ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. According to People, Cudi dated singer Cassie Ventura briefly in 2011 during a tumultuous time in her relationship with the disgraced mogul.
Ventura testified last week that Diddy became angry when he found out about her relationship with Cudi during a party. She alleged that Diddy threatened her with the release of compromising recordings and physically assaulted her. Ventura described an incident where Diddy kicked her, leaving bruises.
In addition to the physical assault, Ventura claimed that Diddy threatened to harm Cudi, saying he would have his car blown up. She detailed these threats in emails to her mother and Diddy’s former assistant.
Diddy is facing five criminal charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. Ventura is testifying for the prosecution, and Cudi is expected to take the stand as well. The charges against Diddy carry severe penalties, including life imprisonment.
