Joey Bada$$ revealed during an appearance on UPROXX’s Sound Check that he is aiming to release a new album before August 30th this summer. The Brooklyn rapper expressed his goal of dropping his first full-length project since 2022 in the coming months.

Since the release of “The Ruler’s Back” at the beginning of the year, Joey Bada$$ has been at the forefront of a rap battle between the East Coast and West Coast, engaging in a series of diss tracks with various artists. In his recent track “Crash Dummy,” he directly called out Kendrick Lamar, sparking anticipation for a response from the Compton rapper who is currently on tour with SZA.

During the interview, Joey Bada$$ also discussed the impact that the late MF DOOM had on his early career, crediting his friend and collaborator Capital STEEZ for introducing him to the masked villain.
