The design of the Jordan XXX was done by Jordan’s long time designer Tinker Hatfield and his fellow designer Mark Smith, who have helped broaden the Jordan narrative to form a story on the Air Jordan XXX, one that shows a storied yet timeless lineage with a foresight towards the future.
Jordan played 15 seasons in the NBA, with both the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards – and has been instrumental in popularizing the league. His biography in NBA also by acclamation says he is the greatest basketball player of all time. Through his leaping abilities shown by his slam dunks gave him the nick name “AIR JORDAN” which is also the name of his brand and his “Airness”. In 2015, Jordan became the first billionaire NBA player in history.
The Air Jordan XXX features a knit and woven upper shell highlighted by a unique toe cap and a ‘Flight Speed’ chassis, where each plays a crucial role in select portions of the shoe. The shoe is defined by five main components: height, toe, traction, material and fit which were Jordan’s request to designer Tinker Hatfield. He was anticipating a shoe that looks fast, which was accomplished through the use of a new knit collar and graphic, used along the heel and forefoot. A smooth toe piece fashioned by Mark Smith using a new printing technique offers unparalleled breathability.
