During a surprise appearance at Central Cee’s concert in Toronto on Saturday, Drake revealed that OVO Fest will be making a comeback this summer in 2025.
Addressing the crowd, Drake shared, “I’ll see you this summer, by the way. OVO Fest will be back this year.” He then directed his attention to Central Cee, stating, “we’ll need you there for that.”
The last OVO Fest was held in 2022, featuring performances from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Kardinal Offishall, Shawn Desman, and Nelly Furtado. This year’s festival would mark Drake’s return to the event following his public disputes with Kendrick Lamar and Universal Music Group.
While no further details have been disclosed, it is likely that Central Cee will be a prominent guest at the festival. Drake commended the British rapper during his appearance, expressing his admiration for Central Cee’s song “Day In The Life.“
Typically taking place in August, OVO Fest coincides with the Caribbean Carnival in Toronto. Drake’s announcement was made during his performance of “Nokia” from his collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, at the History venue, which he co-owns with Live Nation.
Known for his penchant for surprises, Drake’s unexpected announcement has generated excitement for the return of OVO Fest this summer.
