After a hiatus, self-proclaimed Jersey City Gladiator Albee Al returns with his newest album Koba’s Coming. The 13-track album showcases Albee’s confidence in his ability to dominate the rap game while staying true to himself. Koba, a nickname Albee has used in several projects including FREE THE REAL and his 2019 album Koba, appears again in this release.
Albee Al released two singles before the album: “No Hook Po” and “Shots To His Face” featuring Arsonal Da Rebel. In “Shots To His Face,” Albee and Arsonal trade verses about betrayal and hardships. Albee raps, “Aye bro, I got some scars that’ll never heal. A lot of n* I vouched for, they were never real.”
He continues, “The first time I read a book, I was in a cell. Out of sight, out of mind. Remember Christmas locked up, not getting mail. I know God watching me, but I’mma give them Hell.”
In “No Problem,” Albee shows a lighter side, dedicating the song to a loyal partner who supported him through tough times. He reflects on moving past an ex, telling his current partner, “Baby be my peace. I already fight depression. Money is the root of evil, but sometimes a blessing. Swear I’m too lit to be worried about my exes. Confident I’m the one, so there ain’t no guessing, I just got a few questions…”
Additional features include Rob49, Fivio Foreign, PnB Rock, Lil Tjay, Dave East, Millyz, and Leaf Ward. Koba’s Coming tells Albee Al’s story of perseverance and consistency in rap, asserting his intent to stay in the game.
